Symphyllia erythraea

(Klunzinger, 1879)

Colonies are massive, becoming hemispherical. Valleys are short, usually with less than three centres. Septa are in two orders, with tall teeth. Columellae are well formed.

Colour: Mottled or uniform brown, grey, green or cream.

Habitat: Most reef environments.

Abundance: Sometimes common.

Similar species: Acanthastrea hillae , Acanthastrea ishigakiensis
