Porites panamensis

Verrill, 1866

Colonies are lobed or form short branches. The surface is smooth to undulating.

Colour: Greenish-grey.

Habitat: Rocky foreshores.

Abundance: Locally common.

Similar species: Porites lobata , Porites mayeri

Taxonomic note: Taxonomic note: Porites sverdrupi Durham, 1947 may be a separate species, primarily characterised by some development of branches and a rough coenosteum. Source reference: Veron (2000). Taxonomic reference: Verrill?s original description/specimens.
